Tiger Leaping Gorge
The scene is that of Jinsha River, a tributary of Yangtze River, located 60 kilometres north of Lijiang City in Yunnan Province, China. The main attraction is that of the rock in the fast-flowing water of the river. Legend had it that a tiger made its escape from the hunters by leaping across the 25-metre-wide river with the rock providing the mid jump landing. The Chinese named it 虎跳峡; pinyin: Hǔ tiào xiá translated Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Attention was attempted to portray the water flowing energy, splashing against the rock and then settling down to flow downriver twisting and turning whilst hugging the contour of the mountains.
